Arch news

Vision Arch is excited to announce two major appointments in the higher education sector, delivering technically advanced façade solutions for transformative developments at the London School of Economics and Queen Mary University of London. These projects underline how Vision Arch continues to combine technical precision with sustainable design for innovative educational environments across the UK.

London School of Economics, 35 Lincoln’s Inn Fields: Sustainable Retrofit and Transformation

Appointed by McLaren Construction Group, Vision Arch will deliver a comprehensive façade package for the refurbishment and extension of 35 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, a key project within LSE’s central London campus. The development is designed by David Chipperfield Architects, taking a design-led approach that honours the building’s historic character and integrates sustainable, contemporary solutions.

Our scope includes the design, manufacture, and installation of composite windows and doors, steel curtain walling, ground-floor glazing including revolving doors, steel balustrades, composite wall panels, and a Raico steel rooflight system forming the atrium roof. Internally, both Raico and Schüco fire-rated curtain walling systems will be installed within the atrium space.
The scheme centres on careful reuse and improvement of the existing structure. A new lightweight timber extension at upper levels complements the refurbishment. A central atrium and rooflight will transform the internal environment, improving connectivity and maximising natural daylight throughout the building. With ambitious sustainability targets including BREEAM Outstanding, Passivhaus certification, and WELL Platinum, the project sets a strong benchmark for low-carbon retrofit in the higher education sector.LSE

Queen Mary University of London: A New Home for Business and Management

Vision Arch has also been appointed by Willmott Dixon to deliver the full façade package for the new School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London’s Mile End Campus.
Our works encompass a complete façade solution, including curtain walling, windows, doors, automated systems, revolving doors, louvres, perforated panels, rainscreen cladding, brise soleil, vertical fins, composite cladding, secondary steel, SFS, and all associated metalwork and flashings.

Designed by Nicholas Hare Architects, the seven-storey development will provide a state-of-the-art environment for teaching and learning, supporting the university’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the project represents a major investment in the future of one of the UK’s leading research institutions.
With projects at the London School of Economics, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Southampton, Vision Arch continues to deliver innovative, high-performance façade solutions across the higher education sector in the UK. We’re proud to support transformative, design-led developments that shape learning environments, promote sustainability, and set new benchmarks for academic buildings. ""
