Design Engineer

The main purpose of this role is to carry out design tasks as directed by the Project Design Director; which will incorporate design, development, production of General Arrangement and detail drawings, workshop drawings and schedules, glass and fixings; with site meetings and survey assistance, as and when required.

Required Skills

• Good communication and organisational skills
• Previous experience in the industry, preferably with Schuco Systems
• The ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Confident use of the English language
• Excellent attention to detail and thorough processing skills
• Able to work on their own as well as within a team
• Proficient listening skills and able to follow instructions
• Experience within an office environment
• Computer literate – Advanced CAD & Intermediate; Word, Outlook and Excel

 Experience / Requirements

• Excellent project delivery skills
• Technical understanding of project elements
• Ability to lead / work in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to articulate current issues specific to the project
• High quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc)
• Proven experience in managing the integration of a Programme of work
• Previous sector experience and knowledge of sector standards

Specialist Skills / Attributes

• Methodical and highly organised
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent CAD package experience – AutoCad & SolidWorks (or equivalents)
• Good Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
• Comfortable working and communicating with colleagues at all levels of the business
• Accountable for his / her actions
• Able to make sound commercial and considered decisions

Key Interfaces

All office & site personnel, including front line and management staff and contractors, internal / external auditors and regulatory bodies.
 
Other

Have a current full driving licence.
Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.
