Design Manager

We're looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced Design Managers to join our dedicated team

Contract: Full time

Location: Flexible, TBA

Salary: Negotiable, DOE

Responsible for full design process - tender stage through to completion of 'As Built' drawings, to budget & program.
Produce (in conjunction with the Project Director) monitor and manage design program. 
Working on multiple projects at any one time.
To carry out other design related tasks as required by Project Design Director/s. 
Liaising with both external and internal design and engineering resources.
Pre-construction design and all technical related elements of the project. 
Attend and chair internal & external design meetings. 
Training and mentoring design team members.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • In depth experience in the façade industry.

  • High competency levels in all fields of façade design.

  • Technical façade & architectural design experience.

  • Excellent project delivery skills.

  • Technical understanding of project elements.

  • Ability to lead in multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Ability to articulate current issues specific to the project. 

  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.

  • High level of understanding of CWCT Guidelines and relevant Building Regulations.

  • Experience managing design personnel.

  • Leadership and motivational skills.

  • High quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc).

  • Proven experience in managing the integration of a programme of work.

  • Previous sector experience and knowledge of sector standards.

  • Confident use of the English language.

  • Ideally, degree qualification & five GCSEs (including English & Mathematics).

  • Experience within an office environment.

  • Computer literate – advanced CAD and Excel & intermediate; Word and Outlook.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Accountable for own actions

  • Excellent CAD package experience – AutoCad & SolidWorks (or equivalents)

  • Comfortable working and communicating with colleagues at all levels of the business.

  • Able to make sound commercial and considered decisions.

Key Interfaces

All office & site personnel, including front line and management staff and contractors, internal / external auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Other

  • Current full driving licence.

  • Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.
