Project Manager

Looking for self-motivated and diligent Project Manager/s to join our dedicated team

Contract: Full time

Location: Flexible, TBA

Salary: Negotiable, DOE

The main purpose of this role is to manage the project from initial handover from the Sales team, right through to the Installation completion.  Also to provide assistance to the Project Director on a day-to-day basis to ensure the smooth running (planning, procurement and execution) of the project, in the office and on site too.
In order to ensure the project is run and completed within the defined scope, budget and specified timeframes with the aim of exceeding our clients’ expectations.

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Manage the project and provide assistance to the Project Director on a day-to-day basis

  • Standing in for / assisting the Site Manager as and when required

  • Obtaining quotations for the project specific items, whilst working with the Commercial Manager and the Project Director to get the best deal

  • Expediting orders, to ensure compliance with the required delivery dates

  • Liaising with the Site Manager, to ensure timely delivery of materials etc to site

  • Compiling RAMS / QITP in a timely manner for approval by the Project Director and submission online

  • Keeping records and updating files with all QA documents per project

  • Regular interrogation of the Clients online Project Control System, such as Conject / BIW etc, updating and relaying new items to site and the Project Director (training will be given)

  • Regular interrogation of the Clients Project Snag control system, such as ISG’s SnagR system; updating and relaying issues to site and the Project Director (training will be given)

Principal Responsibilities

  • To ensure high levels of health & safety, quality and environmental control are maintained and to keep accurate and up to date records of the same

  • Regularly attend site to carry out site inspections of works done and to record the same on Vision Arch’s paperwork, taking photographs of progress on each site visit and downloading and storing in the appropriate Project file on the company’s system

  • To ensure that the site manager completes a daily diary and notifies and records all suspected additional works to the project and commercial team as soon as this happens

  • To ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental issues within each project

  • Assisting the Project Director to ensure safe, successful completion of each project meeting the necessary industry standards and the commercial objectives of each project

  • To identify and manage the risks associated with each project

  • Development of project documentation, programmes, master budget etc

  • Maintain a robust document management system

  • To maintain excellent working relationships with all relevant parties

  • Work to continuously improve standards of performance

  • Produce reports to suit relevant stages of the projects (when required)

  • Comply with all Vision Arch’s processes & procedures and the client specific processes and procedures

  • Monitor and report on progress against the contract programme (when required), you will maintain the program, including all updates following issue from Sales & Estimating where the Program will have been pre-agreed

  • Engage with clients in building strong relationships. Grow the business and promote Vision Arch’s capabilities

Key interfaces

All office & site personnel, including front line and management staff and contractors, internal / external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Construction industry experience within the Fenestration sector

  • Refurbishment and new build experience

  • CSCS skilled worker card or above

  • SMSTS Qualified (training can be arranged)

  • CWCT trained (training can be arranged)

  • Conversant with major fenestration systems, such as Schuco, Kawneer etc

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Experience and knowledge of the industry sector standards and regulations etc

Experience / Requirements

  • Excellent project delivery skills

  • Experience of managing the financial and delivery aspects of a project

  • Technical understanding of project elements.  And acknowledging and adhering to pre-contract and post contract matters

  • Ability to lead / work in multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to articulate current issues specific to the project

  • High quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc.)

  • Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite and project management software (ie. MS Project etc.) training will be given

  • Risk and/or Value Management training

  • Proven experience in managing the integration of a Programme of work

  • Previous sector experience and knowledge of sector standards

Other

Have a current full driving licence.
Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.

Location

Hildersham offices & / or working from home plus site visits, as required (majority of our sites are in London - Zone 1)
