Sheet Metal Fabricator
Due to company growth, we are currently looking to recruit a Sheet Metal Fabricator in our Lakenheath factory on a full time basis
Contract: Full time
Location: Lakenheath
Salary: Negotiable, DOE
Purpose of the position
Fabrication of sheet metal parts, predominantly in aluminium using various process and machinery
Day-to-day operations
- Mainly fabricating items using cutting machines and press brakes with some welding
- Reading assembly instructions and technical drawings
- Carrying out quality checks
- Verifying dimensions and product specifications; marking cutting lines on materials
- Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
- Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and fixed securely
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met
- Working with the production schedule
- Troubleshooting products to minimize problems or recalls
- Taking part in any necessary product development meetings
- Maintain a safe & clean workstation and perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
- Adhering to all relevant health and safety standards and training protocols
- Attending any relevant training sessions as directed by line manager
- Other ad hoc duties as and when required and providing essential cover when other members of team are on leave
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
Desirable
- 3 GCSEs (Grade C & above) or equivalent including Mathematics
- Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
Experience
Essential
- 2-3 years proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator, in factory environment using cutting machines and break presses
- Competent use of precision tools (e.g. callipers) to take accurate measurements and experience of using hand, pneumatic and battery tools
- Ability to read and understand drawings
Desirable
- Welding experience preferable but not essential
- Experience in the use of CNC machinery would be advantageous
- Prior knowledge of using hand, power tools and production machinery, as will be commonplace, training will be provided as necessary
- Experience in using and / or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines
- Working knowledge of safety protocols

• Must have full access to transport to, from and during work

Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)
